This is a blog site about my daughter Brooklyn. Currently she is 4 1/2 years old. When she was born, she was diagnosed with Down syndrome. I didn't know what to think or say or even do. But, I sure loved her and I was scared. Now, I am fortunate to have a daughter that is going to have many things go her way! I'm so excited to experience her life styles and I hope to be able to help pave a way to many experiences that I thought she would never have. I love you Brooklyn.

Summer School

Hi, It has been a while since my mom has posted any memo's. I'm starting my third week of summer school tomorrow. I'm learning a new letter everyday. I am pretty close to writing my name. My Mom is so excited. This weekend My sister and I are having our birthday party. My sister's birthday is June 22nd and mine is July 14th. Taylor will turn 7 and I will turn 5. My brother Jake turned 17 May 26th. I hope I get a new bike with training wheels. I try to ride my sisters, but it is to big. I dint have much planned this summer besides swimming classes on Saturdays and in August my Dad is taking the family to see the New York Yankees in Kansas City!!! Go Yankees and the Celtics!!! I would like to make a "Shout Out" to all those participating in the calendar. Strike a Pose!

Me Mah's Birthday

Hi, Tonight we went out to eat for my me-mah's (grandma's) birthday. She says she turned 47, but for some reason my me-mah thinks I can't figure that one out as being off a little. also, I am back in Top Soccer. I love chasing the ball! Making goals are my favorite. Only about 14 days of school left before summer school. I will be going full day summer school..I dont know what my mom was thinking when she signed me up..I would have loved a summer off before Kindergarten. She must forget sometimes I have other things in mind for this summer, like swimming, playing, riding my sisters red bike and just being a kid. Camp would have been nice too. The things I have to do to make my parents happy. I hope they remember that when it's time to purchase my first car!!!!

My sisters make-up!!!!!!!

HI, Last week I was upstairs and my mom thought I was watching Sponge Bob which I was at first but then I found my sisters make-up. I emptied 3 lip glosses to get this final outcome. I look fabulous!! I came down stairs and I had a grin from ear to ear. My sister didn't think it was funny. She cried. I love make-up. I think I am going to be a girly girl.

World Down Syndrome Day!!

Happy National Down Syndrome Day. I was going to take me Star to the Amazing Pizza Machine but she is sick. She has a throw up bug that started this morning. I hope that is all it is. We will just reschedule her day a different day. I am still happy to have a reason to celebrate her life and my family as well. I will keep this short and so I can rub her tummy!!

What does Brooklyn like???

The Music that is playing is the music that Brooklyn likes to listen to!!! She loves Hannah Montana, aka Miley Cyrus. She likes High School Musical. She also likes the Black Eyed Peas thanks to her dad. Her favorite shows include iCarly, Big Rush? and Sponge Bob Square Pants thanks to Taylor. I think those shows are a little old but she loves them and I keep thinking to myself that perhaps this will help her advancement in vocabulary and the increased exposure to ideas that she can hopefully understand and attempt and accomplish. Like the music, dancing and friendships. There is one other show she likes on Nick Jr. and it's a musical show but I cant think of the name right now.

OMG!!! Thank you my blogger expert!!! Now on to Brooklyn. She is now sleeping. Tomorrow is National Down Syndrome Day and our family will celebrate Brooklyn by going to the Amazing Pizza Machine. I am so thankful for all the achievements Brooklyn has accomplished thus far. She could not have done it if it wasn't for all the resources provided by the school district and for my family and friends including the group Super Moms which means a lot to me. It's not just the support it's the friendships, compassion, familiarity, referral and resources. I couldn't have made it thus far without all of you.
Brooklyn is currently in her second year of pre-school at Joslyn. She goes to the afternoon class. During the summer she will turn 5. She will be going full time Kindergarten at Picotte in the fall. She will be in a inclusion type setting. I am so excited for her. She knows about 18 letters of the alphabet and knows 1-10. She does have problems with cutting with scissors so she will use a special pair. She likes to color and attempts to stay with in the lines. She does not understand big, little or over and under so that is something I hope to help with her over the summer. She is still not Potty Trained yet but in progress. Night All!!!
